Hi Guys,
Just a quick note to wish everyone a Merry Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/DAYS OFF.
Growing up, Christmas was never really a big deal, and my parents’ attempts at introducing Santa in my life has been half-baked, at best. They did try, though, they really did, but there was just too much evidence to suggest that he didn’t exist, and I was a bit of a logical prat.
Instead, Christmas became a bit more about the opportunity to spend a relaxed day together as a family, and you know what? I think that maybe that should be what it’s about. Sure, presents are nice and all, but most of the time it just translates to more junk to accumulate around the house, and the stress of impressing less-close family members can really just ruin the time leading up to it.
So I guess the whole point of my rant is this: there’s no need to risk the rage of Christmas Eve shopping (unless you find it as exhilarating as I do, then go ahead), and Christmas Eve parking, and Christmas Eve stress. Just go hang out with your loved ones and remember that true love and care means that you don’t have to gift at a specific time.
And ice cream. True love also means ice cream.
May you have a stress-free holiday!!
Love and beef ribs,
