Food experiments: Dehydrating herbs in the microwave

For the longest time, I’ve been more in love with the idea of dehydrating, than the actual dehydration itself. Removing water from food has long been a method of preservation, and flavour concentration, and all round creative, funky applications. But the actual process of dehydration can take hours, and may or may not require specific uni-tasking machinery that just takes up space in your tiny one-bedroom apartment.

Well, my apartment anyway.

So when I read that dehydrating herbs in the microwave was an option, I wanted to see just how practical it was, and whether it was really as it seemed.

The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Exercise!

This may be controversial to say, but I HATE EXERCISE. It’s true. I keep trying, you know, but nothing ever makes up for the sweat, tears and injury…and that’s just from personal trainers. For a while I went to the gym 5 days a week as part of a pact with Yina, but the moment we started living in different countries, I stopped.

Sometimes, it can be hard when photographing kids, especially when they’re not feeling cooperative, or they’re just a little shy. I didn’t want to miss out on these fleeting moments with my family, so I had to figure out what to do, fast!

Here’s what I’ve learnt: my top 6 tips to photograph children!

To Pro or Not: Which camera should I buy?

As odd as it may seem, photographers never start out as photographers. They rarely ever are born with a camera ready to play with, even if their parents are amateur enthusiasts. My parents, for example, were quite into memory preservation through film, and I never got into photography into a serious way until I was well into my 20s. It all began with a tiny point and shoot, and when I outgrew that, I was faced with the question that many advanced beginners are faced with:

Which camera should I buy?
